Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Leader in Engineering and Projects to Lead Engineering Maintenance Operations in Research & Development sites including facility and infrastructure maintenance, support equipment installations and maintenance. To lead modification and improvement engineering and safety projects, coordinate with Corporate and other Business Units for implementing improvement initiatives such as energy conservation, safety, performance improvement of utility equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for overall Facility Maintenance at all sites of Research and Development by maintaining various utilities and equipments. Provide essential support for maintaining and upgrading process equipment for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) and Formulations delivery teams. Execute preventive maintenance plans for all equipment and utilities, while establishing Service Level Agreements with contractors and comprehensive contracts for major services. 
  • You will be responsible to continuously assess infrastructure requirements, implement necessary improvements, and provide support for analytical equipment and related utilities to uphold the usability and functionality of facilities and equipment. 
  • You will be responsible to lead the preparation and facilitation of user requirements, functional specifications, design documents, and technical evaluations for new equipment and instruments. Oversee the installation and commissioning of new systems and equipment.
  • You will be responsible to oversee the performance management of utility and process equipment, implementing measures for continuous improvement. Drive automation projects to enhance performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • You will be responsible to collaborate with corporate teams, campus management, and other business unit leads to implement sustainability projects.
  • You will be responsible to ensure the implementation of safety measures in engineering operations and project execution. Conduct safety risk assessments on facilities, systems, and equipment as required and lead the management of contractor safety and the implementation of safety standards across Research & Development sites.
  • You will be responsible to "Interact with the Directorate of Factories, Electrical Regulatory, and other statutory authorities at all Research & Development sites. Manage power crises by ensuring compliance with restrictions and control measures imposed by the electricity board
  • You will be responsible for people and capability development in the team. Also for implementation of Lean Daily Management (LDM) and Gemba walk practices 

Qualifications

Educational qualification: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

Minimum work experience: 12 years of experience, preferably in Facility Engineering and Maintenance 

Skills & attributes:
Technical Skills

  • Good understating on Pharmaceutical Research and Development operation
  • Technical knowledge in Facility and Plant Engineering, infrastructure building, contractor management.
  • Ability to understand the specific requirements of Research and Development (R&D) Scientists/ Delivery teams 
  • Experience in preventive maintenance and engineering solutions
  • Understanding of Good Engineering Practices.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory standards.
  • Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience in Engineering, Vendor management, Contractor management and safety requirements.
