Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced individual to lead our Instrumentation engineering team, overseeing maintenance of Automation systems, Qualifications, breakdown's, Validations etc.,. The role involves reviewing engineering deliverables, guiding event investigations, proposing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with audit standards. The ideal candidate will focus on minimizing downtime, generating energy-saving ideas, and prioritizing safety for people, equipment, and facilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Responsible for 21 CFR part 11 compliance for Computerized System Validation.
2. Responsible for periodic review and Backup and Restore for Computerized System.
3. Investigating Automation & Calibration failures and finding root cause failure with appropriate CAPA.
4. Ensure Preventive maintenance of Distributed Control System, PLC, HMI, Data Logger system etc.
5. Responsible for break down, preventive, Proactive maintenance of all instruments and control system.
6. To ensure that compliance (regulatory, statutory and legal) are understood, implemented and monitored on a daily basis. To adhere to principles of Good Engineering Practice (GEP).
7. To ensure the asset owners are aware of the maintainability issues of their assets.
8. To ensure that all instruments are in calibration state.
9. Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
10. To bring about Improvement in machine availability, time bound repair of machine and equipment’s (along with the relevant records.
11. To ensure that all the drawings and technical specifications of the equipment and system in his/her area is updated.
12. To ensure updation/revision of calibration schedule based on criticality assessment and classification of instrument.
13. To reuse and recycle equipment's, etc. wherever possible. 
14. Ensure that the equipment and related systems (both old and new) are (re)qualified / (re)validated as per schedule.
15. To co-ordinate with the production team in identifying and implementing automation projects as per site objective.
16. To maintain records/documents as per SOPs.
17. To introduce initiatives to reduce cost.
18. Trouble shooting with an objective of finding permanent solution.
19. To ensure cGMP implementation in his/her area as per the QMS.
20. Ensure the good housekeeping and SHE targets as per site objectives.
21. Liaoning (with peers and outside agencies) to meet business objectives.
22. To ensure that the his department meets it’s budget targets.
23. To ensure the facility is as per site objectives at all times.
24. Creating a work environment that promotes safety, people training and development and performance orientation in line with Dr Reddy's Values and policies.
25. Supervision of contractor employee’s operational activities.

Educational qualification: B.E. or B.Tech. - Instrumentation

Minimum work experience: 15 to 20 years of experience

Skills & attributes:

Technical Skills
• Knowledge on API manufacturing equipment's 
• Knowledge on budgeting, preventive maintenance & calibration scheduling and execution.
• Ability to handle project related to machine upgradation, installation and commissioning of new equipment, area modification.
• Good knowledge on PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and computerized system (SCADA – Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), DCS etc.,
• Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance strategies.
• Experience in event investigation and CAPA implementation.
• Familiarity with audit compliance standards in the pharmaceutical industry.

Behavioural Skills
• Strong communication skill to co-ordinate with vendors, cross function team and regulatory/internal audits and inspections.
• Leadership and team management skills to guide and lead the process engineering team effectively.
• Safety-conscious mind-set with a commitment to ensuring the safety of people, equipment, and facilities.
