Role: Manager Business Development
Objective: Dr Reddy’s is looking to maximize opportunity from the developed and advanced stage portfolio in India and Select emerging markets. For the same purpose, we are looking for a smart, driven, impact-oriented individual to drive this opportunity from conceptualization to revenue realization through both in-house selection and B2B deals with other partners. Once the process moves for India, the individual is expected to replicate the same to other relevant emerging markets (like North Africa). The role shall require high degree first principal problem solving to define strategy, and clinically execute the same to get revenue realization. Also, the role expects individual to drive the BD process end to end from lead generation to driving negotiations and closure, for the B2B opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategy Definition
Define strategy for overall portfolio analysis, along with key criteria both for the IH and B2B opportunity with an intent to:
1. Shortlist assets
2. Define the overall opportunity size
3. Iterate basis inputs of commercial leaders, and take sign off for execution
Work with portfolio, commercial, and IPDO team to define:
1. Product wise strategy and plan post initial selection, taking them through pre APEX and APEX route
2. Business case and P&L, with clear articulation of strategy on "where to play" (e.g. b2B/IH, which channels etc.) and "how to win" (e.g. for B2B, which partners and why)
2. Path to revenue (timelines and costs)
Analytics and program management
1. Perform the required analytics and problem to drive the problem statement forward as per plan
2. In collaboration with portfolio team Set up required program management structure with accountabilities to ensure timely execution
Deal making
For B2B opportunities,
1. Define strategic framework for selecting right partners
2. Drive the BD process to forge deals with those select partners
Replication to other markets
As the process moves for India, replicate learnings of the same in other relevant emerging markets (e.g. South Africa)
Experience and skills
- At least 2-3 years of work experience – Experience at prestigious consulting firms such as Big 4, Mckinsey, BCG, Bain as a generalist strategy consultant, or in BD/corporate development and M&A/corporate strategy team at a major Indian company/MNC
- Strong first problem solving skills with demonstrated business impact in previous experience at work
- Business acumen to build strategies and work with senior stakeholders to refine and align the same – some experience in strategy projects shall be great
- Good understanding of basics of corporate finance, e.g. elements of P&L, business case
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management; Should have ability to influence stakeholders across levels and resolve conflicts
- Experience/exposure in Pharma sector is a plus but not a must have
Educational qualifications
- MBA preferably from Tier 1 Institute

Branded generics is one of our biggest businesses in Emerging market and our branded products are available 48 countries across 5 regions. Our key markets are Russia, China and Brazil.
