Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide inputs in process design/selection based on product understanding.
- Design and execute experiments with relevant documentation, considering relevant QbD (Quality by Design) elements.
- Collect and interpret data from experiments conducted, including formulations, process, and analytical.
- Demonstrate the ability to rapidly absorb information and provide multiple inputs for consideration in arriving at design strategies for development and execution.
- Interact with relevant experts to gain basic understanding of design and development considerations for successful scale-up and technology transfer.
- Liaise with capacity management, SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment), and operations teams to provide input relating to site selection, equipment selection, and process selection during product selection.
- Finalize batch size based on capacity and commercial requirement, provide raw material requirement based on batch size as per regulatory requirement, execute approval of confirmatory batch (CB), and provide control strategy for Exhibit Batches based on CB results.
- Select and finalize equipment train including appropriate change parts, prepare control strategies, and documents for identified risks for successful scale-up.
- Prepare process optimization report & filing documents (like process development Section in PDR), analyze data, and provide support in answering process-related deficiencies.

- Basic understanding of criteria for API attributes, dosage form, and patents.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical process designing and selection, QbD concepts, and risk-based approaches for process optimization.
- Ability to prepare technical protocols, reports, and technical write-ups.
- Good knowledge of small scale and large-scale equipment with understanding of scale-up calculation.
- Knowledge of ICH guidelines related to Product development or Process Development.
- Demonstrates understanding of formulation development methodology and evaluation of dosage forms for desired attributes.
- Preferred understanding of basic analytical methods.
