Job Summary
We are looking for a Team Member in Engineering (Instrumentation) function for plant maintenance of all instrumentation activities including DCS, PLC and standalone control systems, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, overseeing external contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. They will review production operations, train technicians, manage spare parts inventory, and lead troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime. Additionally, they will maintain budgets, support technical activities, and ensure regulatory compliance, contributing to the efficient and reliable operation of equipment and facilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- To look after the calibration of all process field instruments like Pressure Gauges, Temperature Transmitters, Pressure Transmitters, pH Indicators, Flow transmitters, Level Transmitters etc as per calibration schedule and calibration Master List and record the same.
- Preparation of the Calibrations master list and Annual Calibrations schedule and update the same in SAP Execution of the calibrations as per calibration policy and related Instrument calibration SOP’s.
- Ensure the completion of the Preventive maintenance of Equipment/instrument/instrument panels. To suggest and implement new areas of automation. Issue of the new instruments to the concerned user departments as per the requirement.
- Attending problem related to instrumentation in the block.
- Periodical updating of the new instruments in the master schedule.
- Follow safety rules in every aspect and area of work with work permit systems.
- Co-ordination with other sections of engineering department for day-to-day maintenance and projects. Sending the equipment masters for external calibration.
- To ensure the compliance to QA and safety norms.
- Ensuring plant maintenance notification closer.
- Updating the maintenance notification work request in SAP.
- To look after the maintenance of the control systems and ensure the frequent backups as per schedules.
- To prepare Qualification documents such as URS, DQ, FS, IQ and OQ for any modification and new projects.
- To maintain existing automation projects and maintain required critical spares.
- To carry out the improvement in the existing systems to reduce the down time.
- To undertake any other job as may be assigned by the concerned HOD.
Educational qualification: Bachelors in Engineering/ Diploma
Work experience: 4 - 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/Chemical/Oil and gas industry with a focus on maintenance and engineering.
Skills & attributes:
Technical Skills
• Prior experience in maintenance and engineering roles preferred.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation maintenance practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
• Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and implement corrective actions effectively.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including GMP and cGMP standards.
Behavioral skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
