Strategy Execution:
- Oversee the subcategory strategies implementation in-line with objectives of the organization.
- Encourage continual development by sharing inputs on scope with category heads and leads to optimize specifications within the subcategory.
- Execute and implement strategic procurement and contract management guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Support the creation of sub-category strategy for short term and long term, along with Sourcing lead /Category head.
- Work with the planning and supply chain teams to efficiently plan and forecast future demand for materials (Packaging).
- Preparing of strategy documents as per category requirements.
- Tracking of input material indices & thereby managing the prices.
- Handling the primary packaging material like cartridges, vials , ampoules, devices, infusion pumps, patches etc. independently.
- Making of Budget for PM category, finding out saving’s opportunities & take actively part in Operational Excellence meetings/presentations.
Business Partnering:
- Actively interact and communicate with relevant parties (such as IPDO leads, Business leads, Planning/Manufacturing, Packaging Development, Quality and Finance) in order to acquire information, set priorities, and, if necessary, resolve any possible issues in the subcategory.
- Create a systematic feedback system with stakeholders to learn about their changing requirements and preferences.
- Manage and resolve vendor issues and put procurement strategies into action to establish relationships with suppliers.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Oversee all suppliers for the corresponding subcategory, with the exception of important strategic suppliers, includes proactive engagement, governance, supply risk identification, and escalation to the Category Lead/Head.
- Support on AVD by conducting vendor inspection, vendor reviews, quality assessments, etc. whenever is required.
- Keep update vendor masters timey, review the approved supplier list, GQM, vendor lead-time management.
Market Assessment:
- Identify market and delivery systems to evaluate material availability both current and future, identify gaps in supply and demand.
- Conduct market research to gather intelligence, identify opportunities, and support development of should cost.
- Make use of the acquired market information to assist well-informed category decision-making.
- Constantly tracking and maintaining and monitoring changes in the price of materials, supplier pricing movements, price benchmarking in accordance with established standards, and keep updated the category lead/head of price changes.
Sourcing Event Execution:
- Compile business needs from user teams in order to source events.
- Locate possible suppliers around the world and assess them to find out about product availability, capacity, compliances, and general contract/sales terms.
- Techno-commercial evaluation of bids that meet our needs, including asking suppliers for clarification where necessary.
- Obtaining bid offers approval from the Category Lead or Category Head before placing orders or signing off the contracts.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and make sure bids are submitted on schedule.
- Create negotiation strategy sheets for supplier talks and analyse vendor bid rates.
- Conduct rate analysis (preferably through a digital tool) of vendor bids and prepare negotiation strategy sheets for supplier discussions.
Monitoring:
- Help with contract administration, making sure that laws, rules, and procurement guidelines are followed.
- Manage the creation of alternate sources through a cross-functional team.
- Keep a close eye on developments and resolve any bottlenecks that may arise.
- To find new prospective for cost-reduction, negotiation opportunities, monitor the relevant market indices.
Sustainability:
- Work with suppliers to develop a plan for enhancing the % of suppliers that comply with ESG standards and gather information on Scope 3 Reduction initiatives.
- Support in compiling information on future trends and changes in the sector to find possible areas of opportunity.
- Helping with data for annual sustainability reporting, ISO-20400, SA-8000, and other projects.
- Assist with vendor and product identification, cost-benefit analysis, and purchase choices.
Innovation:
- Encourage supplier engagements to find creative solutions and ideas, creating a cooperative atmosphere for ongoing development.
- Scout the tear down opportunities /spec harmonization with help of vendors and provide necessary inputs technical team to drive for implementation.
- Identify the green packaging materials and drive for usage with Cross functional teams to support organization sustainability goals.
- Manage the risks involved in implementing the creative ideas that have been discovered.
- Use data analytics and digital tools to improve visibility and facilitate strategic decision-making, with the assistance of DpEX teams.
- Actively collaborating with service providers and suppliers to find new business possibilities, support market share growth, put innovative procedures into place to meet or exceed client expectations, and provide the company a competitive edge.

Qualification & Experience
- Pharma/Science Graduate with PG Diploma from Indian Institute of Packaging
- MBA (Material Management) with 10+ years of experience in a pharma industry handling Strategic Procurement
- Solid comprehension of procurement strategies, methods, and procedures & Supply chain operations
- Thorough understanding of the regulated market and vendor base, Operations in the pharmaceutical sector, Knowledge of the generics business, Regulatory framework
- Solid grasp of current market information, business dynamics, and trends.
