Job summary
We are seeking a candidate to provide legal support by drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on marketing activities, and supporting the commercial team in strategic goals. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders, legal due diligence, and finding creative, legally compliant solutions to business problems.
Roles & Responsibilities
• You will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and assisting with execution of contracts and related legal documents, including service contracts, distributor contracts, MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding), term sheets, etc.
• Your role will include advising on marketing and promotional activities, while being compliant with applicable laws and the Company’s marketing code.
• You will provide legal support to the commercial team in implementing strategic goals.
• Your responsibilities will include working closely with business units to evaluate the commercial intent and guiding on its execution, in conformity with legal requirements and with adequate risk mitigation.
• Your role involves interacting with key stakeholders, including Finance, Tax, SCM, Regulatory as well as colleagues in global Legal & Compliance department.
• You will be responsible for supporting the various product divisions and cross-functional teams in key assignments and assisting with legal due diligence and business development efforts.
• You will be expected to handle research and interpretation of applicable laws and ideating on creative and legally compliant solutions to business problems.
Educational qualification: An LLB; and an LLM with a focus on commercial law or business law is preferable
Minimum work experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in commercial law or corporate legal practice; prior experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal support in a corporate setting
Skills & attributes:
Technical Skills
• Experience in research and advisory on applicable law, and familiarity with IPR, data privacy, etc.
• Proficiency in contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiation.
• Sound knowledge of commercial and business laws, including contract law, marketing laws, and regulatory compliance.
• Legal research skills and the ability to interpret and apply laws to business situations.
• Familiarity with legal due diligence processes.
Behavioural skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to finding legally compliant solutions to business challenges.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Business acumen and the ability to understand and align legal advice with strategic business goals.
About the Department
Finance
The Finance function at Dr. Reddy's goes beyond the traditional roles of monitoring costs, supervising accounting and creating reports. Deep into its digitalization transformation journey, the function works with all departments in the organization as a strategic partner and plays a major role in supporting management in its decision making.
The function is distributed globally and has business partnering teams allied to different business units as Controller and Planners. And, secondly distributed as multiple Centre of Excellence housed in Corporate office, such as treasury, Risk & Assurance, Taxation, Corporate Analytics, Investor Relations, GFRT and GBS.
