Job Description

Job Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Leader in Operational Excellence for overseeing the implementation of an operational framework, optimizing organizational processes through data analysis, and fostering continuous improvement. The role involves identifying and resolving operational issues, implementing business strategies, and enhancing employee proficiency in operational Excellence. The primary goal is to drive efficiency, resilience, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring adherence to performance metrics and identified business targets.

Process Excellence Framework: Strategize and deploy the Process Excellence framework, Lean Management System, Strategic Deployment process (SDP) and benchmarking practices. Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity across the manufacturing unit.

P&L Diagnostics: Diagnose Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to identify areas for improvement. Suggest and implement opportunities to increase throughput and optimize financial performance.

Process Simplification: Drive process simplification and improvement by leading structured ideation processes. Focus on eliminating Non-value-adding activities, removing redundancies, digitalizing tasks and creating more time for scientific endeavours.

Cost Optimization: Lead and implement a Cost Optimization program using Operational Excellence (OE) diagnostic methodologies. Identify cost-saving opportunities with functional leads, set baselines and targets, and review progress regularly with the leadership team.

Capacity Debottlenecking: Lead capacity debottlenecking efforts to enable agile responses to market demand. Identify and address constraints within manufacturing processes to increase flexibility and scalability in production.

Change Management: Implement change management strategies to establish a continuous improvement culture within the plant. Increase the involvement of all employees in the improvement journey by fostering engagement, promoting best practices, and ensuring effective communication and support throughout the change process.

Manpower Analysis and Budgeting: Take part in analysing and budgeting manpower requirements by recommending standard manning norms based on equipment efficiency. Ensure that manpower levels are aligned with operational needs and efficiency goals.

Capability Building: Develop and deliver training programs to build capability in Lean and Six Sigma tools among plant team members. Ensure that team members are proficient in these methodologies to drive ongoing improvements and sustain operational excellence.

Digital Initiatives: Play the role of change agent and translator for the implementation of digital initiatives and ensuring that digital transformation efforts align with operational goals and drive business value

Cross Learning and participating in internal / external KAIZEN competition: Establish and manage knowledge-sharing practices within the organization. Oversee the implementation and application of knowledge, maintain a comprehensive repository, and foster a culture of collaborative learning. Enhance scientific knowledge through academic connections and technical training programs, ensuring that learning and best practices are effectively shared across the organization.


Qualifications

Qualifications

Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree and relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred

Minimum work experience: 12 to 15 years of experience in a pharma industry, Process Industries like fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG,) Information Technology (IT) or any process industry.

Skills & attributes:
Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, process redesign, and performance metrics.
  • Master Black Belt/ Black Belt Certifications in Lean Six Sigma.
  • Understanding of strategic Planning and business processes
  • Good in data Analytics and providing recommendations
  • Overall understanding of Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, operations/Management
