Job Summary

We are seeking a proficient professional to lead cell culture process development within the Biologics product development domain. This role involves developing approaches, managing multiple projects, and spearheading new technology initiatives in the cell culture development group.

" Roles & Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in upstream process development, building technical depth in the group through regular reviews, and overseeing the design and implementation of scientific projects and technical advancements.
• Your role includes maintaining current scientific awareness in the area of responsibilities, evaluating and implementing relevant new technologies to build functional capability in the group, and representing the function in project/cross-functional meetings as required.
• You will be responsible for overseeing lab operations and equipment maintenance, identifying requirements for equipment procurement/upgradation, and leading the end-to-end development of a minimum of two molecules or the completion of two projects.
• You will be responsible for providing function-specific training to new team members, supporting personnel development through coaching and work assignment, allocating resources to optimize output in a dynamic environment, collaborating with various stakeholders to meet project timelines, identifying developmental needs of Team leads and members, and contributing to the hiring process and performance reviews of the team.
• You will be responsible for shaping the overall direction and delivery of technical reports and presentations within a project or core functional area, including drafting primary documents for functional deliverables, maintaining global quality and regulatory standards, coordinating with other Functional Leads, and providing necessary support for regulatory filings.
• You will be responsible for creating systems for smooth lab functioning, ensuring lab systems/protocols are followed appropriately, and being instrumental in building good lab practices by benchmarking and implementing industry best practices to ensure compliance with good lab practices.

Educational Qualification

A Ph.D. or Master's degree (M.Sc. or M.Tech. or M.E. or M.Pharm.) in Biology, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, or other related disciplines of engineering or life sciences.

Minimum Work Experience

8 years of industrial experience with a Ph.D. or 12 years with a Master’s

Skills & Attributes Technical Skills:

• In-depth understanding of cell culture process development for Biotherapeutics/Biosimilars.
• Awareness about current trends in the Biopharma industry, and exhibiting a good understanding of the regulatory framework and IP (Intellectual Property) landscape.
• Proficiency in cell culture process development through bioreactor operations in batch/fed-batch/perfusion modes.
• Expertise in cell culture process scale-up and technology transfer.
• Understanding of regulatory and IP requirements.
• Understanding of chemical engineering and cell biology principles applicable to cell culture process development.
