Job Description

Inventory Controller - Supply Chain will enable procurement and materials management and inventory control of printed packaging materials in support of Dr. Reddy’s OTC and Rx products at our Contract Packaging Organization (CPO’s).  The CPO’s must have sufficient supplies of printed packaging materials to maintain packaging operations to continue without interruption for any packaging line.

Perform materials management and inventory data management analyses of all printed packaging materials with 100% accuracy at all times.  Identifies methods to order the appropriate volume of materials to: (1) ensure adequate volumes are in place to prevent supply gaps; (2) avoid excessive volume ordering that could result in COPE; and (3) manage the supply of the printed packaging materials with the correct level of financial control to meet corporate fiscal policies.
Develops strong business relationships with the CPO’s to improve DRL’s ability to grow its business and improve supply capability from each CPO through materials management and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the buyer for all printed packaging materials (bottle labels, internal folding cartons, patient information leaflets (PIL), printed lid stock for blister packaging, shipper labels and other related printed components) for primary and secondary packaging operations for oral solid dosage forms that are packaged at the CPO’s for all OTC products and designated Rx products.
  • Materials management and inventory control within SAP of all ordered printed packaging materials is of critical importance to ensure visibility and accuracy of inventory.  Will need to order all packaging materials and maintain materials management and inventory control of each component at each CPO
  • Creates Purchase Orders in SAP and issues them for management approval.  Coordinates with the printed materials suppliers to ship to the CPO’s
  • Issues the Purchase Orders to the CPO’s to ensure that DRL products are packaged on time and in full for every product by all CPO’s thereby ensuring optimal product supply, customer availability and sales fulfillment.
  • The position requires working with the CPO’s to frequently review the inventory and the stocking levels of all printed packaging materials. Periodically support site visits to review inventories and to compare the inventories from the CPO ERP system Dr. Reddy's SAP system to ensure the inventories correlate
  • Manages information in SAP to ensure accurate price, lead time, and vendor information for multiple US CPO sites
  • Thorough understanding of procurement processes and building strategic relationships with partners
  • Delivers cost savings and service improvements that are aligned with Supply Chain Management and Finance objectives
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships with vendors at various levels.
  • Uploads information in SAP to ensure accurate prices, lead times, and vendor information for multiple US sites are continuously updated

Qualifications

Educational qualification:

  • BS Degree in Business/Supply Chain or related field of study

Minimum work experience: 1-3 years of experience in a packaging category preferably in a pharmaceutical environment

Skills & attributes:

  • Exhibits functional expertise in procurement principles, tools and techniques
  • Personal competencies include but not limited to; work management, teamwork, influencing skills and communication 
  • Financial orientation, intercultural orientation and results orientation
  • Market knowledge in packaging and contract packaging space, FDA and cGMP requirements
  • Computing skills (to include SAP, Microsoft Office and Outlook).
  • SAP ERP skills – requires experience in purchasing module through Enterprise Resource Planning System. (SAP preferred), understands relationship between modules in SAP and how to best enable processes preferred
