Job description:
The role of the Design Researcher is the main driver for developing a patient centric perspective.
You will be responsible for understanding the user’s worldview and mapping their journey through
managing disease across the continuum of care.
Your primary goal will be to build empathy with users, design the research activities and tools for this
exercise and engage in conducting it. Your work will form the basis of the problem solving for the
studio in creating relevant solutions that address pain points in the healthcare journey. Fulfilling this
goal requires collaborating with Designers, Insights Experts, Strategists, Business Leaders and other
process partners in the pharmaceutical space throughout the design process.

be a part of highly creative, collaborative, and cross functional global environment. You will be
working on beyond the pill solutions in the healthcare and pharmaceutical ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
• Translating project scope into clear Research objectives.
• Developing a detailed research plan of action
• Creating discussion guides, research tools, probes or methods, co-creation tools, sacrificial
concepts, recording formats, documentation protocols etc. that will allow the team to
uncover user needs and attitudes in the most effective manner.
• Working with external recruiters and other stakeholders to ensure effective set up and
planning of all research related logistics on-the-ground
• Leading user interviews/workshops and any other interactions with users during research
• During the process of testing, leading the user feedback, aligning the resolution of the
prototypes to the user needs being addressed
• Facilitating participation of business stakeholders in user research while keeping intact the
research objectives and plan
• Collaborating with experts in the organisation to combine qualitative research findings with
quantitative research
• Creating a user stories document to bring alive research for business stakeholders
• Participating in the synthesis process by feeding user stories and experience from the field
into the insights mapping exercise
• Collaborating closely with rest of the design team to ensure insights & opportunities are
translated effectively during Ideation, Concept development and Rapid Prototyping, always
being the ‘voice of the user’ in the team
Qualifications:
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in being part of qualitative user research in multi-disciplinary teams, as part of innovation projects
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any of these disciplines: Anthropology, Sociology or other Humanities; Design, Art or Architecture
• Worked in a leading design / innovation consulting firm or an internal innovation team in a large corporate – with exposure to global, product and service innovation & design projects
• Strong understanding of the design research process and its components: broad range of research methodologies, their pros/ cons and their application during different phases of the project.
• A keen ability to listen / observe users in context of business finance and understanding
short and long-term goals of the product and business.
• Experience with qualitative and user-centered design methodologies.
Good To have:
• Ability to rapidly build rapport with users in their setting and conduct discussions about
sensitive topics like health
• Ability to improvise on the enquiry during user interactions
• Ability to work within constraints, and adaptability to the pressures of research schedules
• Passion or strong interest in healthcare related work
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities. And the ability to clearly
articulate insights to the team and leadership
• A team player with proven experience in working with cross functional teams while applying user centered research methodologies.
