Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Scientist in Packaging and development team to collaborate with cross-functional teams for innovative packaging solutions in new product development. Coordinate and oversee activities related to mould design, pilot tool development and production mould development. Develop timelines, prioritize samples, conduct product characterization and reverse engineering. Define component specifications, standard test procedures, and conduct sample analysis, with a focus on optimizing packaging material costs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• To ensure First Time Right (FTR) on packaging deliverable major focus on In house (IH) development projects, Loan license (LL) contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) projects to be launched in INDIA business.
• Profound knowledge on technical packaging skills for primary, secondary and tertiary packaging components applicable majorly on Branded pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare product’s packaging development intended to launched in India market (Generic medicine, skincare, haircare, oralcare etc)
• Very high engagement of packaging activities like Innovator pack characterization, pack design, development, supplying partners (vendor), optimization, Mould, machine, change parts & material interface, Artwork management, packaging documentations Includes Specification, STP, Trade dress, change control, MPC, BOM, Protocol, BPR etc and risk assessment).
• Regular coordination with external manufacturing team (CMOs), Printing partners, Project manager, Product Portfolio, Formulation, marketing & QA Team for technical inputs, Quality requirements, Material & machine requirements and smooth execution of projects.
• De-risking and Deficiency Management, Innovative and differentiated packaging skills are highly desirable. It is essential to have good planning and communication skills and able to operate across all internal and external stakeholders.
• Some travel will be required as a part of this role.
• Should have knowledge of online platforms (SAP, Lotus, ELN, DocHub etc)
• Should be well versed with QMS (Change controls, Incident management, GxP)
• You will responsible to develop timelines & organize samples and sets priorities.
• You will be responsible to develop the component specifications and Standard Test Procedures.
• You will be responsible for Sample Analysis as per component drawings.
•  You will be responsible for cost optimization of packaging materials.

Educational qualification: Master in science/PG in Packaging/or Equivalent degree

Minimum work experience: 4-6 years of experience in Packaging in Pharma/consumer healthcare products (like Generic, branded medicine, skincare, haircare, oralcare)

Skills & attributes:
Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of Plastics Packaging Moulds designing, Mould development & Mould qualification. 
• Good knowledge of different Plastics materials & their selection, usage & process requirements. 
• Experience in Mechanical systems design and troubleshooting, Injection Moulding, Tolerance Stack-up analysis.
• Experience in reverse engineering.
