Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sourcing Specialist for arranging timely delivery of materials to enable batch executions on time for Research & Development projects, and facilitate vendor evaluation, qualification/approval process. The objective of the role is to implement systems and process enhancements to boost overall efficiency and effectiveness in the sourcing process, while adhering to compliance with regulatory requirements, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and business ethics.
Roles & Responsibilities
• You will be responsible for the timely availability of materials for Research and Development projects by placing the purchase orders on time and coordinating with logistics for Import clearance, material pickups and deliveries.
• You will be responsible for ensuring timely actions are initiated for converting Purchase Request to Purchase Orders.
• Your role also involves timely order placement, tracking delivery timelines, and timely escalations to avoid material shortage and enable reduction in lead time.
• You will be responsible for coordinating with Project Management team to arrange the samples of materials required for initial evaluation.
• You will be responsible for building long-term sourcing strategies to evaluate and select the potential source of supply for each product.
• You will be responsible for continuous tracking and monitoring of supply levers such as price arbitrage, volume discounts, and clean sheet costing, as applicable, such that timely actions can be initiated for negotiations.
• You will responsible for preparing monthly MIS (Monthly Information System) reports that enables building sourcing strategies and maintaining cost-competitiveness of the products.
• You will be responsible for maintaining cordial relationships with vendors, service providers, and partners to obtain better quality and service and prompt commitments on availability of material.
• You will be responsible for vendor qualification documents Standards/Impurities to comply with changing regulatory/GMP requirements.
• You will be responsible for supporting Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Regulatory Affair teams for required vendor related documents, material/vendor/product approvals, and addressing any regulatory deficiencies.
• You will be responsible for timely closure of open deviations, Good Return-Invoice Return, and open advances as per business/finance requirement and settlement of debits and credits for external partners.
Educational qualification: B.Pharm., M.Pharm., MBA (Supply Chain Management), B.Sc., or B.Tech.
Minimum work experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in Procurement or Supply chain Management
Skills & attributes:
Technical Skills
• Basic knowledge of SAP in Material Management module.
• Good knowledge of the regulated market, vendors base in pharmaceutical industry.
• Good understanding of operations in pharmaceutical industry, generics business, regulatory framework.
• Overall understanding of supply chain operations, Management, and logistics.
• Recent trends and market intelligence and business dynamics.
Behavioural skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong Networking skills.
