Job Description

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the SHE and Sustainability department, overseeing the development and implementation of standard operating procedures. The role involves ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, conducting safety training programs, organizing safety committee meetings, and managing various safety projects to create a secure and sustainable work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities


• You will be responsible for the preparation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the SHE and Sustainability department. This position is to lead two FTO units PU1 and PU2.

• You will ensure compliance with the SHE statutory requirements, investigate accidents and incidents, and ensure implementation of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to avoid recurrence.
• You will be responsible for organizing Safety committee meetings at regular intervals and implementing the suggestions given by the committee members.
• Your role includes conducting Safety training programs and celebrations such as “National Safety Week” to increase safety awareness, motivate employees towards good safety practices, and ensure a safe work place for all employees.
• Your role also involves planning and execution of SHE Projects, and conducting regular safety audits and inspections in all departments.
• You will be responsible for preparing and updating the Onsite Emergency Plan, and conducting periodic mock drills to check and ensure preparedness among employees.
• You will be responsible for the data collection for and timely submission of SHE MIS (Management Information System) reports to the Central SHE for the Corporate Sustainability report.
• You will be responsible for the implementation of Corporate SHE Guidelines and central initiatives like Road Safety and My Health Index.
• You will carry out SHE Risk assessment of new products aspects of new drugs (during initial stages of introduction) and implement the safety systems and measures proactively.
• You will be responsible for the Safety Induction Training for all new joiners, and ensuring adherence to all elements of the Process Safety Management guidelines including MOC (Management of Change) and PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review).
• Your responsibilities include procuring and enforcing the use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), implementing the “Work Permit System”, and facilitating Pressure Vessel Testing as required by statutory authorities.
• You will be responsible for ensuring availability and operability of required number of Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hydrant Systems, and Fire Alarm Systems.
• Your role includes maintenance of Medical Aid and Emergency Control Center with required equipment at all times.
• You will be responsible for monitoring workplace and industrial hygiene, and conducting QLEA (Quality Local Exhaust Air), QNEA (Quality Non-Exhaust Air) to ensure compliance with the emissions/dust exposure limits.
• You will lead the MHI (My Health Index) teams towards sustained MHI program as per the program management directives, and oversee the waste water treatment plant, ZLD (Zero Liquid Discharge) and environmental compliances.


Qualifications

Educational qualification:  B.E. or B.Tech., Post graduation with specialization in Safety is preferable. 

Minimum work experience: 15 to 20 years of experience

• Experience in safety audit/inspection, showcasing the ability to assess and evaluate safety measures and compliance, along with implementing and facilitating corrective and preventive actions.
