Job Summary

• Guide the team in conducting search, renewals and all other actions concerning trademarks.
• Advice and provide risk analysis on choosing a trademark, brand strategy and protection of the domain names  by taking various steps like registering them as trademarks etc....Respond to office action, issue official letters, prosecution of similar trademarks etc, within timelines .
• Assist with renewals of global trademark portfolio and post-registration maintenance.
• Monitor trademark watch notices and work on trademark prosecution and opposition including infringement and counterfeit actions

Assist with trademark due diligence, prepare and record assignments and undertake other chain of title activities related to corporate transactions.

Educational Qualification

LLB; an LLM with a focus on Intellectual Property Law is preferable

Minimum Work Experience

4 to 6 years of experience in Trademarks Law

Skills & Attributes Technical Skills

• Ability to conduct search and associated actions in relation to trademarks efficiently, identify legal issues and provide legal analysis to the stakeholders accordingly.
• Ability to take steps to protect the domain names from being infringed.
• Ability to draft affidavits, oppositions, reports, office action, legal notices etc.
• Scan through notifications / Journal published and identify similar trademarks for prosecution.
• Ability to spot counterfeit products from the market through various sources and initiate counterfeit actions through external counsels.
• Experience with Trademark Portfolio Database management platforms like Iolite, TrademarksNow etc.
• Excellent attention to detail, able to prioritize under tight deadlines and able to work in an efficient and organized manner.
• Prepare pleadings or support the external counsel in preparing pleadings and brief them competently  for the matters before the Trademarks Registry, IPAB, and any court of law.
• Ability to conduct case law search and other legal research.

Good communication skills and coordinate with the internal and external stake holder
