Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a Finance Controller to support business partnering, auditing, financial closure, and tax filings by managing sales reporting, financial KPIs, and S&OP processes, and ensuring compliance with local tax laws. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership on strategy planning, handling AR and AP management, preparing local tax documents, coordinating with auditors, and ensuring timely submission of all financial filings.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Enable Business Support & Business Partnering

Support to business operations in a cost effective and timely manner and partner in enabling sustainable growth. Support on deal evaluations, evaluations of product pricing / spend proposals, IL/OL deals, agreements, evaluation of entry into TA’s, new channels, product lines in order to ensure that business operations are adequately supported for sustainable growth as well as conducted in de-risked, cost optimized, efficient manner and compliant manner.

 Budgeting & Financial Planning

Lead preparation & finalization of annual budgets for the Country in line with corporate guidance and aspiration through constructive discussion, critical evaluation, building consensus and timely submission of financials and related documents in order to enable business to set appropriate stretch budgets for the Country.

 Management Reporting, Latest Estimates and Profitability improvement

Lead /Generate periodic MIS as per business need on the financial stability and growth of business along with brand wise / channel wise profitability reports; Revenue and SG & A analysis ; Capture secondary sales & IMS trends to provide insights on market dynamics vis-a-vis internal performance; Lead forecasting process for the country ; Suggest opportunities to improve profitability and drive various cost optimization projects in order to support the country team with early actions to improve the business profitability and focus on key areas and mange risks. 

Financial Statements (GAAP) & Closure process and Audits

Ensuring accounting & financial framework in compliance with local GaaP / IFRS / Indian accounting standards. Ensuring internal & external audits with no critical gaps. Ensuring appropriate systems and processes for accounting & adherence to reasonable service levels for transactions processing. Ensuring adherence to tax framework & compliance in order to ensure that a true and fair view of the country operations is reflected in the financial statements.

Credit / Receivables Management

Periodic review and fixation of credit limits of various distributors ; Monitor outstandings and distributor credit limits ; Provide triggers / feedback to concerned teams in order to ensure health of receivables and avoid the exceptions 

 Internal Controls and compliance

Preparing SOPs and policies, periodic review in line with SOX requirements, Establish internal control for key processes and handling periodic internal and statutory audits, Adherence to SOX requirements, Ensure compliances to all applicable laws, Mitigate potential tax risks IN ORDER TO ensure compliance to local (Country specific GAAPs)/IFRS GAAP and also to corporate policies / practices  

 Team Development

Managing & Motivating the Country Finance Team to ensure higher productivity and faster TAT IN ORDER to be effectively support the business and corporate teams;

Identify and facilitate adequate training on functional and behavioural aspects; enhance engagement levels and create a team bonding IN ORDER TO build a higly motivated, collaborative and future ready country finance team.

Others

Other matters (inventory review, tax compliance, entity restructuring, treasury operations, transfer pricing, process improvements and simplifications)


Qualifications

Educational qualification: CA/MBA

Minimum work experience: 7-10 years of experience

Skills & attributes:

  • Proficiency in preparing and analysing financial reports, such as P&L statements, balance sheets, MIS, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience in developing, managing, and reporting budgets and forecasts at a product/SKU level.
  • Advanced knowledge in using SAP or similar ERP systems for financial reporting, month-end closure, and uploads.
  • Ability to support and validate business proposals, tenders, and pricing strategies, including collaboration with leadership and sales teams
  • Skills in managing inventory, collaborating with supply chain management (SCM), and handling inventory provisions and stock holding KPIs.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with senior leadership, finance and business heads, sales teams, external statutory agencies, and auditors.
  • High level of attention to detail for ensuring precision and reliability in all tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking to support strategic decision-making through detailed analysis and insights.
